Adquirí una laptop es una Satellite U305 de Toshiba como dice el titulo :-P y esta es una pequeña reseña de que funciona y como hice funcionar el resto y también que no funciona.

Respecto al kernel debo decir que el estable 2.6.18-x debe funcionar muy bien solo que al moverme a Sid se actualizo a la versión 2.6.22-x pero tuve que regresar a una versión menor ya que este kernel me estaba dando este mensaje:

asi que decidí utilizar un kernel mas nuevo que el 2.6.18 y que no tuviese el problema descrito aquí http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=450424 asi que compile uno versión 2.6.20-21.

Lo primero fue hacer una actualización de la identificación del hardware usando ‘update-pciids’

¿Que funciona?:
* Teclado y los leds indicadores (caps lock, num lock y display lock) tecla ‘FN’ solo funciona con las teclas para controlar el brillo de la pantalla y con la tecla de habilitar y deshabilitar el touch-pad/mouse

* Touchpad funciona usando libsynaptics-dev y libsynaptics0 ambas usando version 0.14.6c-1

* Video usando xserver-xorg-video-i810, xserver-xorg-video-intel y 915resolution, compiz-fusion funciona

* DVD+RW funciona

* Sonido funciona compilando ALSA manualmente mas instrucciones al respecto aquí http://www.klabs.be/~fpiat/linux/debian/Lenny_on_Thinkpad_T61.html incluso la salida de audio para audifonos funciona
